I received this email from a attorney/member asking that I post it on the SCBA website.
To whom it may concern,
Great Lakes Bay Animal Society is a 501(c)(3) companion animal rescue that serves the mid-Michigan area. GLBAS is committed to saving abandoned, neglected
and unwanted companion animals, ultimately placing them in loving homes. GLBAS is an all-volunteer organization founded in 2012 by animal rescue veterans who saw a need for a companion animal rescue and advocacy group dedicated to assisting the communities
in the Great Lakes Bay region.
Our all-volunteer organization:
- Rescues adoptable animals and provides care and medical treatment to animals in transition through our Foster Program
- Ensures these rescued companion animals are placed in loving, permanent homes
- Promotes responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering for controlling pet overpopulation
- Networks with and provides a rescue service for other shelters, ultimately reducing the kill rate in the Great Lakes Bay Region
GLBAS is seeking assistance with legal review of existing adoption, foster and volunteer contracts as well as a trusted guide for legal questions as they present
themselves over time. We appreciate the assistance of those in the local legal community who share our mission to help save more animals and in turn help the community as a whole.
