Hi everyone – I am passing along information below from our Friend of the Court director, and although this may seem like a domestic relations law issue, I know many of you are not only getting questions on this but may need these answers on a personal level.

We are discussing an upcoming domestic relations committee meeting by video conference – please reach out if you would like us to set up any specific committee meetings or would like a general SCBA video conference.

We will also be in touch when more information is received on any extensions to the stay home order as it has been suggested multiple times by the Governor in her updates that it is more than likely the next step but we won’t know until sometime later in the week.

SCAO posted the below link with commonly asked questions about parenting time during Covid-19.  I would also like it noted that Saginaw FOC has implemented a make-up parenting time policy for any denials that occur during this time. Parties are being told to work out make up time and if they are not able to agree, the staff attorney will decide when the make up occurs.  Unless otherwise agreed, make up parenting time will occur after the Governors Stay Home Stay Safe Order is lifted. Parties are also advised, unless otherwise agreed, to follow their parenting time schedules as they would if school were still in session.  So the summer parenting time will start whenever it was originally scheduled to start by the school.  Any questions, you can contact me by phone or email.  Thank you!
