Subject: Scheduling for Judge Borchard
Date: April 16th 2020

Please see the below information provided by Friend of the Court director, Brittany Dougherty:

Below is the new scheduling times for Judge Borchard’s docket.  This will be effective immediately and remain until we are able to get caught up on the back log.

Judge has limited the hearings to 20 motions per time slot.

I just ask that everyone remain flexible as we may need to change this around depending on how many motions and other hearings we have.

We have an option to add Wednesdays as a motion day as well if we need additional time.

You will see there are two “attorney reserved” spots for motions and for pro con hearings.

If the attorneys need to get something else on sooner than they are scheduled, Judy advised to call her and she will fit them in where she can or attorneys can schedule during the pro per time slots.

The schedule will be as follows:

Monday: MOTION DAY

9:00 : A-G

10:30 H-O

1:30 : P-Z

2:30 Attorney represented only motions (any part of the alphabet as long as there is an attorney filing)

Tuesday: MOTION DAY
9:00 : A-G

10:30 H-O

1:30 : P-Z

Wednesday:

9:00 : DO filings

Thursday:

Leave open for any evidentiary hearings and FOC SC’s

Friday:

10:00 Attorney Pro Cons

11:00 Pro per Pro Cons

Regarding the Parenting Time Denial Show Causes- those will be going in front of the Referee.

Nicki  has asked that attorneys include the title of their motion and “Referee Hearing” in the title to help the girls identify the ones that should be scheduled with the Referee.

As a reminder, they do not need to do a Notice of Hearing for Referee Motions.  The Referee will schedule it and send out the Notice of Hearing.  Specific requests for hearing dates with the Referee should be directed to that office.

Trials: Judge Borchard has encouraged everyone to try and settle their trials set in May.  Those that are not settled will be adjourned to make room for emergency issues and catch up on Motions.
