Also – Brittany has provided some Zoom reminders below that you should be familiar with and make sure your clients are familiar with as well.
Zoom Reminders
Make sure you and your client have their name as it appears on the docket as their zoom name- if we are not able to identify them, they will not be let in from the waiting room when their hearing is called- THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
This is a live hearing streaming on youtube for public viewing in compliance with the court rules and the hearing is being recorded.
Your mic has been muted upon entry into the hearing. Please unmute your mic when you are ready to speak and remute your mic when you are done speaking to avoid any background noise in the hearing.
If you are participating by phone without video capability, please identify yourself prior to speaking so that the record is clear.
There is sometimes some delay/lag in the audio on zoom. Make sure to speak slowly, clearly and one at a time.
There is a chat function in this hearing to be used for purposes of sending exhibits. Parties should share their exhibits with the other party and wait for the court to admit the exhibit before sending in the chat to everyone. Please do not use the chat for any other function unless you are having technical difficulties. If you are having difficulty with attaching a file in the chat, you can email it to foc@PROTECTED. This will take longer for us to view the exhibits. I don’t expect that many exhibits will need to be sent as this is just motion day- not evidentiary hearings but we want to make sure you have a way to share documents if you need to . The chat function is recorded with the hearing if the chat is sent to everyone. If you send a chat your client individually, that will NOT be recorded.
If we need to, we can utilize “breakout” rooms for you to meet with your client of the FOC staff attorney.
When we start the hearing, I will start by calling the case and identifying the parties that are participating in the hearing.
