Obituary for Mark Thomas Mahlberg
Mark Thomas Mahlberg died following a brief illness at Covenant HealthCare on Monday, May 11, 2020, at the age of 82. He had practiced law in Saginaw, Michigan, for more than 40 years.
Born in Stambaugh, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula, Mark attended Northwestern Michigan on a full music scholarship, playing the drums in the marching band, before transferring to Northern Michigan for a degree in economics. He graduated from the University
of Michigan School of Law.
Mark was quietly passionate about music. He regularly attended concerts in Ann Arbor. For years he had season tickets to the Lyric Opera in Chicago.
Mark served on the advisory board of the Salvation Army. He attended St. John’s Episcopal Church, serving on the Finance Committee, Vestry, and as Senior Warden.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Myrtle Shovald Mahlberg, and brother, Lowell (Shirley) Lindstrom of Eagle Point, Oregon. His is survived by his brother, Warren
(Ethel) Lindstrom of Bedford, New Hampshire, numerous cousins, and special friends, Ellen Redfield, Nick Redfield, Duncan and Sandy Redfield, and Douglas and Tracey Redfield.
